The new Leica DISTO™ D3a with Smart Horizontal Mode™ for precise measurements is the newly uprgraded multi-functional instrument combining accuracy and reliablity with software enhancements developed for more expensive instruments

Replacing the older Leica DISTO™ D3 the new unit offers even more features inside an updated ruggedized body able to withstand even the toughest conditions.

With a measuring accuracy of ± 1.0 mm, the Leica DISTO™ D3a offers high precision at the touch of a button and with the large, illuminated display the measurement results and supplementary information are clearly and legibly displayed.

Smart Horizontal Mode™ Thanks to the combination of distance and tilt measurements you can determine the horizontal distance simply & precisely without the need to hold the unit level. You can take a measurement at an inclination of up to ± 45°, the Leica DISTO™ D3a will then automatically calculate the shortest horizontal distance allowing you to measure quickly and easily, even over the top of objects and people.

Room Angle Measurement The Leica DISTO™ D3a features a simple function for the measurement of angles of room corners. In three quick steps the angle of the returning wall is displayed to a resolution of 0.1°.

Tilt sensor Thanks to the in-built tilt sensor, you can quickly and simply measure tilts up to ± 45°. This allows the user to measure the angle of staircases, disabled access ramps and with the use of the timer even roof pitch’s. With the use of the laser you are also able to transfer angles giving you a virtual 100m inclinometer.

Multiple functions The Leica DISTO™ D3a can also calculate rectangular and triangular areas, volumes, room dimensions and various types of Pythagorean functions such as indirect height. A time delay release and enough memory for up to 20 measurements finish off the instruments wide range of functions.

Automatic Screen & Keypad Illumination An built-in sensor detects if the environment is dark and switches on the illumination of the keypad and display. You can also measure in the dark without any problem.

Multifunctional endpiece Aim the instrument straight at the target point, whether measuring out of corners, slots or from edges: with this endpiece you are prepared for all measuring situations. The instrument detects the endpiece automatically, which helps you avoid expensive measuring errors.

Power Range Technology™ The integrated Power Range Technology™ makes measuring long distances very easy. You can measure up to 80 m without a target plate and even up 100 m with a target plate, without having to take single step.
