Leica Rugby 55
The Contractor’s Choice Rugged – Dependable – Accurate – Versatile
The Leica Rugby 55 provides today's contractor with the tools needed for virtually any leveling or alignment job.
The Leica Rugby 55 features an easy to use keypad, a watertight seal, variable head speeds, selectable scanning modes, a bright red beam and an alkaline or rechargeable NiMH battery pack.
It is aimed at contractors who are focused on interior applications. Its small, compact size makes handling and setup easier to handle. The convenient carrying case holds the Leica Rugby 55 while still attached to the wall mount bracket, eliminating the need to reattach and set the height each time the laser is used.
The Rugby 55 has several unique features. The “Scan-90” feature automatically moves the scanning or stationary beam in 90° intervals through each of the four axes. The “Beam Down” feature automatically positions the beam below the laser when doing layout work for quicker setups over a point. And, “Sleep Mode” puts the Rugby 55 to sleep for up to two hours to conserve battery life when it is not being used.
The Rugby 55’s laydown capability, 90° split beam and watertight seal make the Rugby 55 a great tool for the exterior, concrete contractor. Set up on a tripod or batter board clamp, the setting out of corners and alignment of forms and foundations can be reliably accomplished using the Rugby 55.

Square |
| With the Leica Rugby 55 mounted securely to the first piece of wall angle, set it to the desired height, adjust the ceiling grid using the laser beam on the target as the reference. |
Set up your Leica Rugby 55 over a control point using the unique Beam Down feature, then align the rotating or scanning beam to your second control point using the buttons on the Leica Rugby 55 or the remote control. |
The top plumb beam is always 90° to the main beam. Set up and align the Leica Rugby 55 to two control points, and the top plumb beam will provide an easy to use, 90° reference. |
Scan-90 With the Leica Rugby 55 the scanning or stationary beam can be quickly positioned in 90° increments ... making layout easier by quickly moving the beam to the left of right side of the Leica Rugby 55. |

Beam Down Mode By selecting zero rps with the head speed button, the rotating head automatically positions itself in a plumb down direction for alignment of the Leica Rugby 55 over a reference point. |
IR Remote Control Adjustments to the Leica Rugby 55 are possible from virtually any direction using the full-function, infrared Remote Control. |
